Dobyns-Bennett Students Shine At Future Business Leaders of America State Competition in Chattanooga (click for photos)

Eighteen students and three advisers of the Dobyns-Bennett chapter of FBLA traveled to Chattanooga, TN for the State Competition March 11-13, 2019.  Students competed in 12 different business and technology related individual or team events, attended seminars and participated in FBLA’s night at the aquarium.

Kingsport Selected for U.S. Navy Band Tour

America's Navy is coming to Kingsport, Tennessee, one of 25 cities in ten states to host a performance by the United States Navy Band during its 2019 tour -- one of the signature outreach programs of the U.S. Navy. The U.S. Navy Concert Band performance is scheduled for March 18, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Eastman Employee Center’s Toy F. Reid Auditorium. All Navy Band performances are free and open to the public though all attendees must have a ticket. Free tickets are available at the Eastman Employee Center and the Dobyns-Bennett Instrumental Music Building.

D-B Choir Sings at Windy City Choral Festival in Chicago

The D-B Varsity Choir headline the Windy City Choral Festival at the Chicago Symphony Center over the weekend. The students did a remarkable job and sounded heavenly. The students and directors had the opportunity to work with Randall Stroope, one of the top choral directors in the nation. They also had the opportunity to sing with seven other top choral programs in the country.
The varsity choir is one of six choral ensembles at Dobyns-Bennett. All of the ensembles are under the direction of Jenny Rogers and Patty Denmark and were accompanied on piano by D-B alum, Bryant Denmark.

Dramahawks Complete Regular Tournament Season In Morristown

Here are the results from the Hurricane Invitational at Morristown East High School. After Dinner Speaking - Abigail Combs, 1st Place; Duet Acting - Paige Hubbard and Grace Wellman, 4th Place; Informative Speaking - Paige Hubbard, 5th Place and Abigail Combs, 6th Place;
Storytelling - Maria Simpson, 4th Place, Lillie Ausband, 5th Place, and Grace Wellman, 6th Place. Congratulations to these performers, and Godspeed as they move on to District and State competitions in April!

CTE Water Bottle Project

The faculty and staff of Dobyns-Bennett CTE would like to thank and recognize Halle Hernandez, for all her hard work with our CTE Water Bottle project. Halle was responsible for designing labels, researching and pricing distributors and ultimately making recommendations about ordering to Mrs. Ricker and Dr. Shadden. CTE’s latest marking tool is here and we are ready to start hydrating!
