Four students have earned academic honors through the College Board, receiving First-Generation Recognition.

Eastman’s Black History Oratorical Contest provides local high school students an opportunity to develop a
deeper understanding of Black and African American contributors to the academic disciplines of science,
technology, engineering and math (STEM). It also provides the students with an opportunity to improve their

Abdulrahman Alyafi will compete with the top high school students in the nation for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships.

All donations will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. Dobyns-Bennett is competing against West Ridge to see which school can collect the largest volume of items! The winning school will receive a trophy at D-B's Homecoming Game on September 25. You can bring your donations to ANY pod in the school! The finalists represent each Center of Regional Excellence (CORE) region in the state, with three finalists in each Grand Division: East, Middle, and West.

Mr. Christian will oversee all technology operations for the district, including all programs, services, policies, support, and programming.
