The November Inspiring Indian Award Goes to Senior, Rebecca Garver.

Rebecca was nominated by Mr. Ben Robertson. Here is what Mr. Robertson had to say about Rebecca: "Rebecca is the model of leadership and inspiration in our Transition School to Work Program. Rebecca has overcome a lot in her life, yet still comes to school every day with a positive attitude and always jumps in to help out with any of the duties that need to be done in our TSW program. She is a mentor and tutor to our younger students and our students with more significant disabilities. She also serves as a BUD for those students with significant disabilities. Rebecca serves as a volunteer at the YMCA as well. She works with the babies and toddlers in the child watch department. Rebecca is an outstanding student and employee at Texas Roadhouse. We are super proud of her. She exemplifies perseverance and inspiration in many ways."

Dramahawks Place 2nd at Showstopper Invitational

Congratulations to the Dramahawks who placed Second at the Showstopper Invitational at Science Hill last Saturday. The Dramahawks earned 21 awards, including 1st Place in Duo Interpretation by Maria Simpson and Ethan Walker, 1st Place in Duet Acting by Maddi Rimer and Ethan Walker, and 1st Place in Original Oratory by Paige Hubbard.
Additionally, Ethan Walker and Maddi Rimer have recently earned the National Forensic League’s Academic All American Award, a prestigious award reserved for the top 2% of speech and debate performers. Eligibility includes 750 tournament points throughout their high school forensics career, a 3.7 plus GPA, and evidence of community service. Congratulations, Maddi and Ethan!

TN / VA Scholars Volunteer Hours Deadline January 10, 2020

ATTENTION SENIORS!!! TN/VA Scholars Community Service forms are due by Friday, January 10, 2020. Please return your community service forms to the Counseling Office by this date! To remain qualified as a TN/VA Scholar you must also continue to meet all of the academic, attendance, and discipline criteria required to graduate as a TN/VA Scholar as well as complete and return your community service form listing the 80 hours of community service you have completed during your high school career. The specific criteria for graduating as a TN/VA Scholar is listed on the DB website on the Counseling Page. Click on TN/VA Scholars in the maroon column on the right side of the Counseling page. This is also where you may access the TN/VA Scholars Community Service forms.

D-B Dramahawks Successful Weekend!

Congratulations to the D-B Dramahawks on a successful weekend with two performances of their originally-written comedy murder mystery Murder on Hillshire Island, and their success at the 32nd annual Chestnut Tree Invitational Forensics Tournament hosted by Morristown West High School, which included two states, 19 teams and 349 entries. The D-B Dramahawks finished 3rd overall and brought home 17 individual trophies.
