KCS Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse has been named the 2022 First Tennessee District Superintendent of the Year. With his recognition as the top district First Tennessee Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Moorhouse is also now a finalist for the 2022 Tennessee Superintendent of the Year, which will be announced later this year.

Dobyns-Bennett has been named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best High Schools in the United States again, receiving a silver medal designation in the 2021 Best High Schools rankings.

All board meetings, work sessions, and mini-retreats are open to the public.

Dr. Chris Hampton was named Principal of the Year and Vicki Johnston was named Supervisor of the Year. Teachers of the Year include, Jackilyn Heller (grades Pre-K–4), Mona Fulkerson (grades 5–8), and Dr. Andy Irvin (grades 9–12).

The 66th Annual 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program is a program designed to identify and honor the top high school students in the United States.

Nominations for the KCS Hall of Fame Class of 2021 will be accepted through May 1, 2021.

D-B seniors Chandni Bhat, Caleb Buell, and Ryan Herzog have been named among 4,500 candidates in the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Dobyns-Bennett Science & Technology Center is the new face and main entrance for the D-B campus. The 70,000 square-foot, 400-seat building fulfills the mission to create a culture that inspires innovation through science and technology.
