DBHS Alumni Association will honor the family of Charles David Broome with a painting unveiling for their gift of "The Days of Glory, Ole D-B'' painted by Lorraine Brewer.

Twelve (12) D-B students have received Advanced Placement® (AP®) Capstone Diplomas during the 2020-21 school year, as well as a total of 173 AP Scholars named.

An opportunity for up to 10-15 area residents to learn more about the inner workings of all KCS educational and functional operations.

With some exceptions, the Board will hold regular monthly board meetings on the second Tuesday at 6 p.m. and work sessions on the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) has announced the nine finalists for the State of Tennessee's Principal of the Year and the eight finalists for Supervisor of the Year distinction.

KCS Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse has been named the 2022 First Tennessee District Superintendent of the Year. With his recognition as the top district First Tennessee Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Moorhouse is also now a finalist for the 2022 Tennessee Superintendent of the Year, which will be announced later this year.

Dobyns-Bennett has been named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best High Schools in the United States again, receiving a silver medal designation in the 2021 Best High Schools rankings.

All board meetings, work sessions, and mini-retreats are open to the public.

Dr. Chris Hampton was named Principal of the Year and Vicki Johnston was named Supervisor of the Year. Teachers of the Year include, Jackilyn Heller (grades Pre-K–4), Mona Fulkerson (grades 5–8), and Dr. Andy Irvin (grades 9–12).

The 66th Annual 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program is a program designed to identify and honor the top high school students in the United States.
