WHAT: Dobyns-Bennett High School Orchestra and Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Side-by-Side Concert

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 7-8 p.m., over 80 Dobyns-Bennett High School orchestra students will perform alongside the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO) at Robinson Middle School (not Toy F. Reid). The concert is open to the public, with a suggested monetary donation of $10. Proceeds will benefit the Dobyns-Bennett High School Orchestra program and Hurricane Helene relief.
Students will prepare a variety of repertoire with their directors, Cindy Carrier and Georgia Sinko. In addition, the orchestra students will collaborate with the KSO under the direction of music director Aram Demirjian. The KSO is the oldest continuously performing orchestra in the Southeast, providing musical experiences to more than 200,000 people annually and championing in-school performances and education opportunities.
Kingsport City Schools (KCS) is a public school district located in Kingsport, Tenn., serving students in Sullivan and Hawkins county.
