"I am especially proud of the recognition that the Dobyns-Bennett High School students and faculty have duly earned," said Kingsport City Schools Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse. "Other teachers in KCS need to share in this accomplishment for the foundation they have provided."
Results of AP assessments factor into this national ranking. 853 Advanced Placement tests were administered to 421 D-B students in 2021. The number of seniors graduating from D-B in 2021 was 610.
Seventy-six (76) percent of Dobyns-Bennett High Schoolstudents who completed an AP test scored at least a three (3) or above. In most cases, an AP exam score ranging from a three (3) to a five (5) qualifies students for college credit in the subject area.
"I am incredibly proud of how the faculty and students continue to work hard to keep the name Dobyns-Bennett synonymous with success and in the same conversation with the very best high schools in the United States," said Dr. Chris Hampton, Dobyns-Bennett High SchoolPrincipal.
