Kingsport City Schools Board of Education Announces 2024-25 Meeting/Work Session Dates

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Kingsport City Schools Board of Education has announced its slate of meeting and work session dates for the 2024-25 school year.  All meetings and work sessions are located at the KCS Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, third floor – Tennessee Room, downtown Kingsport.

With few exceptions, the Board will hold regular monthly board meetings on the second Tuesday at 6 p.m. and work sessions on the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m. The regular monthly meetings include a public comment period on agenda items and all meetings are open to the public, which all are encouraged to attend.

The Kingsport Board of Education is made up of five elected at-large members. Each member serves a four-year staggered term. Elections are held in August during even numbered years. New Board of Education members are seated on September 1 of each election year. Members of the public wishing to address the board concerning an issue not included on the board's regular agenda must submit a written request to the Superintendent of Schools at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled board meeting. At the discretion of the Superintendent and the Board President, concerns brought by members of the public may be placed on the board agenda or addressed privately at an appointed time.
